The Organize Menu
The Organize Menu offers five important functions: Change instruments, tempo the key and the time signature.
Change Instrument
This command opens the Instrument menu, where you can easily set the instrument sound for each staff. Select the staff on the right (1) and the instrument sound on the left (2). Then click on "Change instrument" (3).
Change Tempo
Here you can specify tempo for the entire score or for each section. You can also specify the note value to be used for the meter. For metronome settings, you can also use the tempo function in the Bar Menu.
Change Key
Here you can change the key of the entire score or single staves.
This window can also be used to transpose staves or entire scores and set the new key.
1. Transpose the Entire Score
First select all elements of the document with Ctrl+A. Now select the command "Change Key" in the Organize Menu. The Key Signature window opens. Here you can select the new key and decide if you want a natural warning to be displayed. The checkmarks for "Note Transposing" and "Change all staves" must be set. In addition, the direction in which the notes are to be moved can be determined.
2. Transpose a Staff
To transpose a single staff, mark the staff line by double-clicking directly on the left of the first bar. The whole staff is displayed in blue.
Now select the command "Change Key" in the Organize Menu. The Key Signature window opens. Here you can select the new key and decide if you want a natural warning to be displayed. The checkmark for "Transpose all staves" must not be set, but "Note Transposing" is required. In addition, the direction in which the notes are to be moved can be determined.
Change Time Signature
First, select the bar or range of bars that a time signature change will apply to. To change the time signature of the entire document, you have to select everything. Then, select the time signature you wish to insert. ScanScore supports complex time signatures.
Note: The time signature will be changed immediately!
Organize Staves
In the first layer of this window you can set the graphical connection of the staves:
If you click on "Connect or disconnect staves", you can change the structural connection of the staves in the document. For example, if two separate lines were recognized and played as one connected one, you can split them here.
